Mercury, the messenger symbolising communication and thought processes is retrograde until 18th October. This retrograde is giving us time to slow down, review, discuss, reconsider, and catch up on things for which we need more time. Mindfulness is the key word here, not to overthink, or move too fast and make quick or rash decisions… this is the gift of Mercury retrograde. It is an opportunity to take the time to understand the other side of the story, find more information so there is a clear understanding. Mercury is in the air sign of Libra, an opportunity to see another point of view, keep connections alive, assess, negotiate, and ask questions to improve communication. Libra loves harmony and balance, so co-operation and moving together is the desire to create a “win win “situation. If you tend to be impatient this could be challenging, so take the time to pace yourself, then make a decision and move on without haste.
There is an intensity to these weeks as Mercury is interacting with Chiron, Jupiter and Pluto, which are all retrograde. The ongoing square with Pluto triggers an intense emotional imprint around relationships, especially related to fear and abuse. A new narrative can be formed from the past patterns of being stuck in loops this lifetime or many previous lives. This is about flipping the script of trauma, painful or destructive patterns…. Pluto brings awareness of these and the ability to work through and reprogram relationships, whether it be friends, family or business. The power dynamic is shifting to change the narrative from previous feelings of powerlessness. You can be more objective, see another perspective, see a story you have told yourself and change this. Pluto rewrites and reframes…. transforms. The Sun and Mars are travelling together in Libra: this masculine energy, gives strength and courage in your relationships. Look in the mirror and be honest as to what we project onto others and truly what are our own patterns… then there is the power to heal. There could be triggers from family, friends, colleagues, demonstrating what we have been taught, so observing this allows reflection and how we wish to connect with others in the future. Mid October the Sun and Mars will trine Jupiter, all in air signs connecting new potentials, new directions, new possibilities and the growth within ourselves will be amplified. There are moments of insights and clarity, intuitive messages and guidance… “I see it now!”. Chiron (the wounded healer) opposite Mercury, may have triggered some insecurity, a personal sensitive point…a scar has been touched and needs to heal. You can step away, look at this scar differently, not go into the pain and manage it in a different and better way. Be objective, this is not my reality, simply understand and ask yourself, what did I learn from this experience and move forward with confidence. This New Moon in Libra is conjunct Mars, which brings a courageous energy to move forward in your life with the emphasis on relationships. The Sun is also in Libra, so diplomacy and balance are highlighted. Mars is the mover and shaker; it gives the energy to get things done now. A predominant feature of this Libran focus is the interaction with others, one on one or publicly. Many of the planets have been retrograde for some time and now include Mercury. This continues the reflection on behaviours and patterns we consciously or unconsciously repeat from the past. Mars gives us the courage to move in another direction, make a conscious change that is truer to ourselves and our intention in relationships. There is a greater confidence to discuss openly, aided by the diplomacy that Libra offers… to solve or create solutions. Heated debates could emerge, so again take care with your responses, and use the Libran qualities that are strong at this time. Mercury retrograde allows ongoing discussions, back and forth and revisiting topics for a more considered approach and collaboration. These are opportunities to have a greater understanding of another perspective.
Venus is in its last degrees of Scorpio, some old fears may have been moved though to complete of a cycle of transformation. Now you can emerge with a greater sense of worthiness, integration, and confidence. This ties in with the New Moon since it symbolises new beginnings. On reflection of old goals (Mercury retrograde), Mars now motivates us to create a new plan or idea for changes in our life. Venus has a wide trine to Neptune and is sextile to Pluto; this enables a connection for bigger inspirations and deeper acceptance of gifts and skills within us. Once where you may have felt small, possibly due to the opinion of others; now there can be a “who cares” attitude and new confidence. It can be time to take a risk, but it is a balanced risk, a sense of power, a shift, an adventure, and uplifting ….it feels right so why not! Chiron (the wounded healer) is retrograde, having 3 planets opposing, can create a lack of confidence, insecurities or simply afraid to make a mistake. These feelings may have come from the past, patterns or goals that has not worked before, creating a perceived limitation. Now is the time to do it differently, override the doubt and say yes and move forward…. there is balance to feel safe and take the risk. Relationships, either personal or in business are a strong theme for the rest of the month of September. There will also be an emphasis on financial matters.
Venus has entered the sign of Scorpio and is approaching the opposition of Uranus in Taurus (exact on September 23rd). There is tension because of the opposition and Venus is not happy in Scorpio. This interaction can create questions about what do you value and what you wish to share with others. There could be an emphasis on financial matters. Some surprises are in store and instability in finances is indicated, as Uranus rules the unexpected. All of this is a little rocky over the full Moon period, so practice some boundaries and listen to yourself as Venus is not in her power. Saturn squares Venus mid-month, time for a reality check and a serious look at relationships whether business or personal… what do I need to keep or let go. Mars enters Libra and is not happy; Mars is a fiery and Libra is the cardinal air sign. Mars wants action and movement where Libra is always looking for that delicate balance. Maybe a good time for strategies, weighing up options and acting behind the scenes. Mars is in mutual reception with Venus, so this offers support for each other in a subtle way, a softening around the edges. Towards the end of the month, Mercury squares Pluto and trines Jupiter, so there can be intense focus on all types of communication personally or with work. This could challenge the way you think or beliefs you may hold, so take care if there are criticisms, as your words could be sharp. Jupiter is there to give you a boost of confidence and a positive outlook. There could be intense power plays in the public arena with all types of communication. Jupiter is trine Mercury so that will help balance the intensity of the square with Pluto. Keep in mind Jupiter and Neptune are retrograde, so there is the possibility that what you can’t see may come to the surface. Jupiter is about truth and expansion and Neptune is the master of illusions and dreams, so being retrograde these could be stripped away. There is support from the grand trine Mars, Saturn & North node in air signs, with the Sun joining this party toward the end of September. Mars brings in movement, a slower Mars now but still wants to take action… it's time and ready. Saturn is providing stability to build a foundation, which is required to move forward with plans… a great time to consolidate and complete a project. Mercury turns retrograde on the 27th, so if you want to plan long term endeavours and actions, ask questions, gather information, and put a plan together, being trine, now could be the time with little difficulty. There is movement, but not a lot of substance yet, it is building but it is bubbling under the surface. Keep in mind with Mercury retrograde, if there are delays it is an opportunity to slow down and take your time. The completion of the zodiac wheel is represented by Pisces hence a time to reflect on what you may have been holding onto from the past. Now is the time of letting go of past beliefs and patterns for your own spiritual growth. This release will allow you to open up and have space to move in a new direction in your life. This could also be a time for consolidation of your recent spiritual growth in which you have been integrating changes. The emotions that are outdated can now be consciously released, with a more intuitive understanding. During this period, you may need to have some downtime to process and rest. Mercury is trine Jupiter, another major influence along with the full Moon bringing confidence, optimism, ideas… it’s also an ideal time for learning something new. With this Full Moon the Sun is opposite the Moon in the sign of Virgo. The Virgo energy still needs to take care of some bits and pieces in our daily life, possibly bring a project to completion. At the same time the Pisces influence is wanting us to kick back, so a balance may be needed between these two energies. Mars has moved into the sign of Libra and being in detriment it is not at all comfortable. It is not an easy place for Mars, as it wants action, and it wants it fast… the Libran influence will way up the pros and cons before moving forward. This could be a good time to implement a well-considered idea or plan. Overall, with this full Moon, there is a slowing down with Mars lending a hand in getting things done in a more considered way, decisions being made with the drive to move on.
At the beginning of September, we will start to feel Neptune opposing Mars, exact on the 3rd September. Even before the beginning of September there was an energy of confusion… what is fantasy and what is reality. The realisation that life might not be the way you planned or where you thought you were going. Neptune is the shapeshifter, the illusionist in which deception or misleading plans have occurred, yet at the same time it can inspire dreams and beliefs. Mars likes clear objectives and goals, so Neptune will be diffusing the energy of Mars…water puts the fire out, so lessens the tension. There could be a desire to escape but it might be just a time to slow down and recuperate, to reconsider or reflect on your options. You may feel a little depleted, so a quiet time might be the answer.
Mars is trine Pluto, so there is potential to make reforms in your life, build good structures, as this will be more effective to plan. Pluto is transforming, so go with what feels right for you. The chaos and change of Uranus in our lives, gives us a different view of our personal lives or the world to sustain the changes you wish. You can formulate objectives for long term efforts now and make changes as there is a greater understanding of your motivations to lay a solid framework. There is growth and maturity so be creative. Saturn in Aquarius is for innovative plans to move forward in the long term, in our lives, in our work or in our interactions with people. Aquarius is about people, leaving behind what we thought we should do and now doing what truly resonates for ourselves. Retrograde Neptune in Pisces allows us to open ourselves to something new, something we may not have considered before. This could be a time for grieving due to disappointments or delusions of the past, which is an important part to let go and move forward. Saturn is trine Mercury so an excellent time for planning or finishing tasks, as there is the ability to focus and apply yourself. Relationships are a big theme…a lot of conversation September has a distinct relationship focus as Mercury and Venus are having an ongoing conversation in Libra. Pluto squares Venus ensuring you don’t give away your power so you can remain true to yourself. Look at what works for you and what doesn’t, as this is a time to apply what you have learned. You could be upset by a someone’s behaviour, so stand up for yourself and your beliefs, express yourself honestly especially if you were unable to do so in the past. It could be uncomfortable at times as Pluto is transformative, so look closely at your relationships, how you value those and leave the old patterns in the past. Pluto trine Mars will give extra drive and energy, so now a good time to implement new strategies. Venus trine Jupiter will create inspiration, light-heartedness, wanting to spend more time with others because in Libra, it a perfect time for relationships. With Jupiter’s expansive energy, there could be an urge to break free from restrictions. This could lead to many distractions or a tendency to be lazy, so resist the urge, follow your heart, take a walk, a day in bed… indulge yourself. Venus is square Pluto currently, so Jupiter softens this harder aspect, reminding you have choices. Jupiter wants to learn and stay open for the new road ahead. Midmonth Venus enters Scorpio, bringing more passion and intensity to relationships. There could be resentfulness or an inability to forget past hurts which may cause problems, so take care in dealing with others. Neptune opposes the Sun, again think clearly, ponder options, and do not make hard and fast decisions. New Moon: 7th September in Virgo at 10.51am AEST.
This New Moon’s focus in Virgo will enable you to focus on details and help you analyse and discriminate to make something real, find new solutions in your daily life. The emphasis at the moment is on relationships, as the personal planets (Venus and Mercury) are in Libra and Mars will ingress into Libra in mid-September. This all provides support to the New Moon, a powerful boost to make changes in a small way, find new solutions, have different conversations and get things done in work, home, friendships, and personal goals. There is quality of confidence and practicality being enabled to really connect with the changes that are happening at a soul level and bring that into our daily lives. The New Moon is trine Uranus, suggesting we are not only open to the new, but we’re also embracing change, that we know is true for ourselves, so again the old patterns are leaving. This could have felt like a lightning strike when Uranus went retrograde in August…sudden changes, new ideas or a new course could have happened quickly with quite a force. Uranus in Taurus will highlight our personal values: we’re now ready to make something special of our work, routines, or tasks and likely find new methods that change the way we do things. It’s a powerful time for innovative practical solutions in our jobs, health, self-care programs, and habits. Virgo’s energy is healing and as a mutable earth sign, we can be open to look at the changes in a practical and real sense, set something in motion that is tangible in our daily life. Virgo is about health and our physical body so a good sensible balance or small changes could be made, whether it be diet, exercise, relaxation or simply taking a walk in the fresh air. Use the Virgo energy…be discriminating and get down to work. The full moon in Aquarius is our future timeline to see a bigger picture. This second full moon in Aquarius and the many planets in the sign of Aquarius, brings attention to this sign in a heightened way. What new changes can we make in our lives, what can be done, what can grow out of this… think outside of the box, be innovative!
Jupiter is conjunct the Full Moon so there could be a sense of optimism and freedom, a good time to experience new activities, bringing a daring quality to our life, initiating something different. Jupiter and the Moon opposite the Sun in Leo, brings into focus personal relationships, work or home so there can be some inner tensions and conflict arise. This will be softened by Venus in Libra and at the end of the month Mercury changes signs from Virgo to Libra. Try to look at the relationships with a balanced quality. Saturn is there in the background in the sign of Aquarius, to build, to grow and with Jupiter gives a sense of hope and space. Venus is trine Saturn on the Full Moon so bodes well for relationships or partnerships with stability and commitment. This will keep in check the over exuberant quality of Mars trine Uranus, which can have a sense of adventure, recklessness and excitement in the air. This Full moon is a completion of a cycle at 29 degrees Aquarius with the Sun in Leo moving into the earth sign of Virgo. The lunar cycle is now back to normal for the first time since the reverse cycle began in July 2020, which created heightened emotional responses, confusion and being on the defence. The new moon and full moon signs now will be working together to allow a more natural progressive and creative growth. The effects of this full moon will last until the next new moon on September 6th in Virgo We may find ourselves taking a trip down memory lane or feeling like we need to revisit the past in some way before we can move ahead. This is all triggered at the moment and ongoing for a while with so many planets retrograde. Saturn and Jupiter will go direct in October, so quite an intense time before then for some of us depending on your natal chart. If you feel stuck and confused, use this time of introspection, to look for clues or guidance as to what may lay ahead. We need to look at the past before we can move forward, like brushing the cobwebs away.
Saturn retrograde helps us a look at where those restrictions may lie in our life. Uranus is the planet of innovation and awakening so as it stations and travels retrograde from the 20th August, it’s here to help us break free from past restrictions. Uranus in the fixed sign of Taurus, well known for being stubborn, will be challenged by Uranus, making it's presence felt to encourage and strengthen any lack of flexibility and steadfastness that is typical of fixed Taurus. It is a good combination to give stability and originality, especially reflecting on our past. Venus who rules Taurus and in the sign of Libra will be lending a hand to soften this aspect with balance and harmony. Virgo in Mercury could be acting a little harshly so a gentleness with ourselves in this trip down memory lane is required and Venus is there to help. The second half of this month is more supportive and there is a feeling of ease appearing in connection with others and greater sense of optimism, especially towards the end of the month, close to September.
13th – 18th There are some good aspects brings some relief to the tension earlier this month. We start to feel the more positive aspects of the trines that Mars and Mercury have with Uranus. These 2 planets are spending the rest of the month together applying to Uranus, so more energy is directed to the practical part of our lives being in Virgo. There is an opportunity to assess skills and be discerning with your current efforts and ans situations. It brings about the quality of analysis, again “what can I change, and bring into my life”. Virgo break things down and then puts it back together, the earthy consideration of how we practically bring about efficient and stable. Virgo is ruled by Mercury so in its sign, it will be happy to consider all the details, be selective, but don’t get too bogged down. Venus in Libra mid-month will bring about a softening quality to this all this, bringing some balance and a little more diplomacy. The edges will be softened, relationships can have a less explosive and divisive nature to them. (and we do need that so much!) Mercury will join Venus at the end of the month in Libra, losing the harshness of Virgo so a distinct change of more ease and better social gathering, conversations will be more flowing, connected with grace and diplomacy. 21st In the week Mars has been moving towards Uranus creating a trine, providing energy and inspiration. You have sparked up and could strike new projects or find existing projects stimulated, as you can see some light now and break through the obstacles with innovative solutions or unusual ideas. 22nd - Full Moon...more info This Full Moon in Aquarius isn't as close to Saturn as the first Full Moon in Aquarius in July. It is much closer to Jupiter, so there is a mellowing, less restrictions and a sense of “its going to be OK”. Mars in Virgo is tucked away, so there is loss of heat leaving Mars in the sign of Virgo, a little more independent and moving with Mercury in Virgo, so easier now to implement solutions for previous problems and a sense of relief will be felt. 23rd The Sun moves into the sign of Virgo, so back to work, do what needs to be done, there is the energy of “lets get it done”, so a busy time for some of us! Mercury being the ruler can create a level of nervous energy so it is vital to find a positive outlet and centre, so there is inner calm. Looking at details and worrying, can lead to nervous upsets, so use the critical, analytical, and practical hard-working qualities of Virgo in a constructive way. With Venus trine Saturn relationships, friendships or partnerships will lend a more serious and stable tone, hence a good time for discussing any problems that may have arisen as you can be more objective. 24th – 29th Mercury is opposing Neptune, bringing a distracted and unfocused influence. At the same time Pluto in a good aspect to Mercury may help concentrate the mind, rest and take time for yourself. Mercury moves into the sign of Libra, hence a little more diplomacy will be prominent. Libra being in an air sign likes to way up the options with a focus on intellectual matters and communication with others. There will be attempts at more inclusive discussions as Libra likes a more fair and balanced solution around conflicts. Mars will be opposing Neptune at the end of the month so there could be a desire to escape. It might be a time to slow down and recuperate, reconsider, or reflect on your options as Mars can have the quality of making quick and rash decisions depending on where it is placed in your natal chart. A quiet time might be the answer to use the Venus in Libra gentleness and grace to find a balance, as it has been a hectic few months. 1-2 August:
The Sun conjunct Mercury in Leo opposite retrograde Saturn brings about a period that requires serious thought, looking at the bigger picture with critical thinking. Saturn makes life real, there are limits and realisation with clarity. You are being asked to think again, are you pushing ahead with a fruitless mission, is there too much of a narrowness in thinking, so this is an opportunity to take a look at aspects of your life. It is a transformative planet, in its effort to restrict and say “ no” hence gives us feedback, what doesn’t work, what is not good for your soul and wasting your time. With Sun and Mercury in Leo, there is a feeling of optimism, ideas and plans, so we can shine with our full selves, along with Saturn’ s accountability, seeing the faults, problems and limits. This tension will be highlighted but brief as Mercury moves fast. With Mars having just moved into Virgo at the end of the month and opposite Jupiter retrograde, comes frustration and friction so wise to avoid conflict with people in position of power but at the same time it is important to assert your objectives and direct your energies for a positive outcome. 3rd August. Mercury square Uranus and Venus trine Uranus. A lot of interaction with Uranus! Venus with it’s grace and love of pleasure, brings a desire to try to do things a little differently, change your pattern of pleasure seeking and add a more carefree attitude, why do I care what others think. Mercury is about communication and thinking which will add to this energy. 5-8th August Sun is square Uranus, a short restless period, keen to break free from anything that doesn’t support your true self. It is not a major transit, but it adds depth to the new moon in Leo on the 8th, giving invaluable insights into your life and how it could be different. There are again opportunities to try something new or different that will help your self-expression. You could be irritated by opposition from others, so take care and use restraint as we know Uranus can be volatile. 9th August Venus in Virgo opposite Neptune lends itself for what isn’t real, it isn’t really what it is. Maybe take the time out to dream, have a mental vacation from the deep critical feelings that can be accompanied with Virgo. 10- 12th August. Mercury enters Virgo and briefly opposite retrograde Jupiter, there will be a desire to feel that everything needs to be in order, in its proper place. Virgo is all about details and practicality but at times too much can bring about an abrasive quality so look for some balance, don’t overdo it and use this attention to detail in a positive way. |
