It is very important to understand you as an individual and the unique way in which your symptoms affect you. During the initial consultation we will explore the problem plus any other general and emotional responses to it. Questions about your lifestyle, eating habits and preferences, temperament, personality, sleep patterns and medical history. A basic medical history will be taken including past medical history, family history and history of other concurrent problems. All this information is essential to prescribe to help determine the best homeopathic medicine for you.

Your first appointment could take anything up to an hour and a half, with follow-up appointments typically lasting 30 minutes. This does vary depending on each individual patient and their complaint.

To get the most out of a consultation, it is helpful and saves time, to think through all the issues that are affecting your health and, if possible, to make some notes before the first consultation.

At the end of the consultation a homeopathic medicine will be prescribed with dosage advice. In most cases one dose only will be advised initially with a follow up phone call 2-5 days later to assess further treatment.

Most major health funds now offer a rebate to their members for homeopathic services dispensed by a registered homeopath.  It is prudent, however, to check with your health fund prior to you trying to claim a rebate.
